NFPA 70E Electrical Safety in the Workplace. DOPL requires 4-hours of NFPA 70E as part of the Continuing Education Reqirements for the current license renewal period. This course offers four hour compilation of the most up-to-date methods of electrical safety. NFPA 70E, Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace (current edition) is a widely accepted performance standard for electrical safety vital for business and workers in the electrical industry. The course correlates OSHA electrical safety rules (PROFORMANCE STANDARDS -SHALL) and NFPA 70E Workplace Safety rules (PROSCRIPTIVE STANDARDS -HOW) provides attendees an appreciation of electrical safety implementation. Terms and definitions, dangers of shock, arc-flash, and arc-blast, lockout/tagout procedures, selecting personal protection equipment (PPE) are all covered. Learning is reinforced with several case studies of actual electrical accidents, including fatalities emphasizing OSHA violations and how NFPA 70E prevents such accidents.
